the question, and, after consulting Major-General R. G.
Broadwood Commanding the Troops, drew up a Memorandum, copy
enclosed, to be communicated to the Committee. The proposed
scheme of training based on what is required of Territorial
Troops in the United Kingdom, was on further consideration
and to meet objections of employers to absence of their
employees in Camp, modified as in the proposals by the
General Officer Commanding, copy of which is attached to
the Memorandum. A further attempt was made to induce Mr.
J. R. M. Smith to join the proposed Committee but without
success. He, however, allowed Mr. F. J. Stabb, who on his
departure on leave was about to succeed him as Chief
Manager, to represent the Bank.
The following Gentlemen, were
eventually appointed to the Committee:-
